Research Focus: 

Dr. Klein's postdoctoral research is in the field of biomedical informatics, focusing in particular on applying natural language processing (NLP) to health-related problems. His recent work involves mining large amounts of user-posted social media (Twitter) data to study associations between medication exposure during pregnancy and pregnancy outcomes. In the process of this work, he has drawn on his background in discourse analysis to help curate annotated corpora for the research community.
